About U18 Premier League

U18 Premier League History, Format, Organization, Media Coverage

The Premier Academy League, often referred to simply as the FAPAL, was the highest-tier of youth football in England between 1997, when it was founded, and 2012, when it was folded. It was initially known as the FA Premier Youth League before being renamed in 1998, with the competition replacing regional-based tournaments as the country’s top-tier youth league. It was contested between the Premier League academy sides and some Football League clubs, including Welsh side Cardiff City. Arsenal’s under-18 team won the inaugural trophy before lifting an additional four-titles, with the five-time champions being the most successful club in Premier Academy League history.
