The Supercopa de México, or Supercopa MX, was a club football tournament contested by Liga MX teams. It was launched in 2014 as a contest between the two winners of the Copa MX tournaments sponsored by Liga MX, with both teams getting to determine the winner on a two-legged affair.

One year after its launch, Liga MX officers decided to take the competition to the United States, changing its format to a one-leg tie. The Supercopa MX became the first tournament of its kind in Latin America to have the game played abroad, joining Italy, France, Turkey, and Spain as the only countries in the world to do that.

After just five years, the competition was suspended by Liga MX execs, since there were no longer two Copa MX tournaments held every season. Six clubs -Morelia, Necaxa, Puebla, Guadalajara, Querétaro, and Cruz Azul- were able to win the title during the brief run of this competition.
