The UCL final, along with both semifinals, UEFA Europa League final and a handful of Liga MX games, helped TUDN rack in the most viewership this week with a total of 2,295,000 views, an average of 286,000 per broadcast and a viewership rating average of 11.25.
In detail, the Champions League semifinal between RB Leipzig and PSG amassed a total of 295,000 views, while the Bayern Munich-Lyon semifinal attracted a larger audience – 310,000 – by a slim margin of 15,000 views. Add the total views of the UCL final, and the final digit for total Champions League viewership for the last three games was 1,280,000, averaging 427,000 per broadcast. On another note, UEFA Europa League viewership in the U.S. has not been too hot lately, and it showed once again with its final between Sevilla and Inter Milan, drawing only 209,000 viewers.
Liga MX’s presence was strong once again, with four games making it to the Showbuzz Daily’s top 150 cable originals and network finals this week. The most-watched game in the U.S. was Cruz Azul’s 3-1 win over Club Atletico San Luis, which attracted a whopping 307,000 total viewers and earned a respectable 0.14 viewership rating. Liga MX totaled 806,000 views and the average per game rose from the previous week from 193,000 to 201,000 this week.
Finally, the two Major League Soccer matches made it to the top 150 list in two different days, both broadcasted through FS1. El Trafico, Los Angeles FC vs. LA Galaxy, attracted 376,000 viewers (more than the MLS is Back Tournament final), while the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers, a Cascadia Cup rivalry, drew a total of 158,000 views. The LAFC-LA Galaxy rivalry game was given a 0.23 viewership rating, which is the best rating an MLS game has had all year long.
