The Colombian footballer will leave the La Liga champions after being offered the chance to play in the English top-flight.

Colombian footballer James Rodríguez will end his up and coming tenure at Real Madrid, even if he was once one of the most praised footballers at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The talented playmaker endured two rough seasons, one on loan at Bayern and one more with the All-white side, where he only managed to play 42 games. Injuries, and mostly bad relationships with Niko Kovac and Zinedine Zidane, prevented him from earning more minutes. Now, the footballer is hour away from sealing a move to Everton, where he will be coached once more by Carlo Ancelotti.

This is not the first time in which the Italian boss has teamed up with the Colombian ace. In fact, the former Los Blancos tactician coached James in what turned out to be the South American player's most prolific season at La Casa Blanca. Rodríguez scored seventeen goals and handed out 18 assists in his only year with Ancelotti during his first year at the Bernabeu, and unfortunatelt for both parties, everything went downhill when the Italian boss was fired.

Years later, both men partnered up again at Bayern München during the Colombian's first season on loan with Die Roten. There, Rodríguez played 39 games under Ancelotti, and he had a direct involvement in 22 goals for the Bavarian side, who won the German Super Cup and the Bundesliga under "Carletto", before he was replaced by Kovac.

The deal, which is set to be signed in the next couple of days, will see Everton spending a bit over $29M for the player's services. On the other hand, Real Madrid will be glad to let Rodríguez leave, as he had one of the highest paychecks in the team and little to show for it under Zidane.

According to Gol Caracol, the Colombian footballer will sign a three-year deal with the Toffees, which will see him earning a bit over $5.3M for the next three seasons. Once at Everton, Rodríguez will team up with fellow Colombian footballer Yerry Mina.
