Kepa and Caballero will have competition in between the sticks as the Blues complete their seventh signing of the summer.

After spending big on bolstering their defense, midfield, and attack; Chelsea have finally addressed one key position that was in dire need of a fix and that is the goalkeeping slot. As per the Daily Mail, the Blues have agreed a deal for a shot-stopper who will now challenge Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero at Stamford Bridge.

That man is none other than Edouard Mendy. This will raise no eyebrows as the Rennes custodian has been heavily linked with the London giants in recent weeks and is expected to complete his Premier League switch after his Ligue 1 employers struck a deal with Lampard's side.

The deal is rumored to be worth $32M, a fee which comes nowhere near what Chelsea paid to land Kepa back in 2018. Mendy will become the club's seventh signing, following in the footsteps of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, and Kai Havertz.

This move comes on the eve of the 2020/21 Premier League kick off. The Blues will get things underway on Monday, taking on Brighton in round 1 of the new English top-flight campaign. It remains uncertain who will start in between the sticks but we can comfortably guess it will be between Kepa and Caballero as this fixture comes too soon for Mendy.

The 28-year-old Senegalese shot-stopper was pulled out of training on Friday before heading to London to complete his medical. Whether he will be Chelsea's final signing for the summer is uncertain but it is no secret that the London giants are on the hunt for more recruits. Declan Rice is said to be on their radar but there is little to suggest West Ham will sell the highly-rated English midfielder.
