The Brazilian superstar accused Alvaro Gonzalez of calling him a "monkey" in PSG's 1-0 Le Classique defeat.

The drama between Neymar and Alvaro Gonzalez that ensued late on in Sunday's Le Classique has carried over to Twitter, with the PSG superstar going on a social media outburst, labelling the Marseille player a racist.

The ugly altercation between the pair kicked off in the final minutes of the weekend showdown. The Brazilian and Spaniard were exchanging words, presumably unpleasant ones, right before a brawl broke out. A total of five players were sent off, including Neymar who was caught by VAR punching Gonzalez in the back of the head amidst all the chaos. Leandro Paredes, Layvin Kurzawa, Jordan Amavi, and Dario Benedetto were the other four to be given their marching orders.

As he made his way off the pitch, the Brazilian accused the Gonzalez of racism and made sure to make the fourth official aware of this. The world's most expensive player continued this allegation after the final whistle.

First, the 28-year-old stated that he wished he had "hit that a**hole in the face". He then doubled down on the racism accusation, alleging that the Marseille defender called him a "monkey son of a b****".

"I only regret that I didn't hit that a**hole in the face," was Neymar's initial tweet.

The Brazilian went into more details in a later tweet, writing: "VAR spotting my 'attack' is easy.

"Now I want to see it pick up the image of the racist calling me a 'monkey son of a b**ch'... that is what I want to see!

"And then? I do a rainbow flick, you punish me. For a slap, I get sent off. What about them? What then?"

Gonzalez hit back at Neymar over his allegation. The 30-year-old blasted the Brazilian for being, in his eyes, a sore loser while pushing back against the racism accusation. He wrote on Twitter: "There is no place for racism. A clean career and with many team-mates and friends on a day to day basis. Sometimes you have to learn how to lose and accept it on the field. Incredible three points today, Allez l'OM thank you family."

However, the PSG sensation continued his war with the center-back, going all out with his reply. "You are not a man to assume your mistake, losing is part of the sport. Now insulting and bringing racism into our lives no, I don't agree,' the former Barcelona ace responded.

"I DON'T RESPECT YOU! YOU HAVE NO CHARACTER! Assume what you say mermon ... be a MAN RAPÁ! RACIST."

Was Neymar's anger justified? Did Gonzalez racially abuse the Selecao sensation? That, unfortunately, remains uncertain at the moment. Hopefully, there will be more clarity in the coming days as to what occurred during their altercation so Gonzalez faces his due punishment if he is truly guilty of using a racial slur. As for the Brazilian, he could face a suspension not only for his attack, but also for sarcastically applauding the referee after his sending off.
