Jonathan Barnett has finally shed light on where his most prominent client can play next season, but there is still road to cover in that negotiation.

Gareth Bale's days at Real Madrid seem to be numbered, and even though reports from earlier today stated that his future was close to Manchester United, player agent Jonathan Barnett has come up to set the record straight about his client's next move.

Speaking in a swift interview with BBC Sport Wales, Barnett spoke about Bale's contract situation, the agent admitted that he has started negotiations with Real Madrid to see his client leaving the club. Moreover, Barnett did not hold back when asked about Bale's new destination, and he seemed to rule out a move to Old Trafford.

"Gareth still loves Spurs, we are talking. It's where he wants to be," Barnett told the media outlet.

Talk about Bale's ext from Real Madrid has been around for quite some time. The player's reluctance to accept any deal delayed all negotiations last season, but his agent and his inner circle have finally convinced him to leave Los Blancos in favor of a sensational return to the Premier League.

Tottenham's negotiations with Real Madrid to add Bale to their roster have also included discussions to see Sergio Reguilón joining Spurs. The deal for Bale could also see Dele Alli joining the Spanish side, although the number of midfielders included in Zidane's squad make it difficult to include the English footballer in the negotiation.
