La Tricolor and La Vinotinto reignited their options for a top-five finish in CONMEBOL's Qualifiers with their victories against Colombia and Chile.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in CONMEBOL have left two massive milestones for teams that regularly enter the pitch as victims, and boy did they manage to shock the world of football with their performances.

The first team to claim a win for the ages during today's games was Ecuador, who were able to thump Colombia with a shocking 6-1 score. La Tricolor's lead was never in doubt, and goals such as the one scored by Gonzalo Plata helped the team to score six against the Colombian side for the first time ever

Elsewhere, a desperate Venezuelan side needed a win to keep dreaming about earning a spot in the FIFA World Cup, and a late goal by Salomón Rondón (who ended a goalless run that had extended for over 900 minutes) gave La Vinotinto their first three points of the competition. On top of that, the Venezuelan side ended a winless streak against Chile in World Cup Qualifiers that had extended for over 19 years.
