Manchester United travel to Southampton in search of three successive wins in the Premier League for the first time this season. The Red Devils have seemingly hit their stride following a rather topsy-turvy start, securing three victories on the bounce. Having suffered consecutive losses in games against Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir ahead of the international break, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responded with a win against Everton before defeating West Brom and Basaksehir at Old Trafford.
In the grand scheme of things, Manchester United's form in the premiership has been a tad worrying with their struggles at home persisting. On the road, the 13-time champions are yet to put a foot wrong in this campaign, winning three games out of three and registering 10 goals while conceding four in the process. This is a massive upgrade on their one win and a draw in five home games.
A win over Southampton will lift the Red Devils into the top half of the Premier League table with a game to spare. But against the in-form Saints, they will need every firepower in their armoury to achieve the consistent run the club's fans so crave. Raphael Hasenhuttl's men have so far had their best-ever start to a season in the top-flight and approach Sunday's game off the back of a seven match unbeaten run.
Although they currently sit in fifth position, their impressive form has already seen them momentarily occupying the top spot on the table, a feat they had not achieved in over 32 years. In that, Southampton have won three home games in a row and could make it four consecutive wins at the St Mary's for the first time in four years should they edge Manchester United.

Southampton will enter Sunday's encounter without their injured prolific goalscorer Danny Ings. Nathan Redmond will also be unavailable as a result of a leg problem. Meanwhile, James Ward-Prowse and Ryan Bertrand should be in contention after recovering from injuries picked up in the win over Wolves.
For Manchester United, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are ruled out of the encounter with injuries. There is uncertainty surrounding the availability of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof with the pair picking up knocks in the Champions League win over Basaksehir.
