League leaders Sporting want to close the year on a high note, but Benfica and Porto can still have a say about their hopes to start 2021 at the top of the table.

The last matchday of 2020 in the Portuguese top-flight promises to deliver some interesting matches while also providing more mystery ahead of the rest of the season.

Current leaders Sporting CP will have the honor of playing a prime time game against Belenenses on Sunday, which could see them end the year at the top of the table. Ruben Amorim's men are yet to lose a game this season, but a recent scare in their last away fixture will see them be wary of any surprises. As for the hosts, trying to steal their rival's unbeaten status will be enough motivation to see them giving their all at Estadio Nacional.

Monday's games will feature teams such as Braga, who will try to put the pressure on Porto and Benfica with a win against Boavista. The other fixture on Monday will see Rio Ave and Marítimo trying to cement their spot in the upper half of the standings.

Tuesday's games will have even more excitement, as Benfica will kick off all the activity with their clash against last-placed Portimonense. The Eagles have not been as impressive as expected under Jorge Jesús, and this would be a good chance for them to bid farewell to 2020 on a high note. Their rivals will try to leave the bottom of the table by earning their third win of a season where they have only scored six times.

Last, but not least, defending champions Porto will seek for three more points against Vitoria de Guimaraes. The Dragons have won four in a row to keep their title hopes alive, but their rival has been quite consistent in their ten games this season, which could complicate things for Sergio Conceicao's men.
