Manchester United will host West Ham at Old Trafford as they look to secure qualification to the next round of the FA Cup.

Match preview

Manchester United will welcome West Ham to Old Trafford on Tuesday as they look to progress to the quarter-final stage of the competition. The Red Devils are clear favorites to move on to the next round considering how impressive their form has been across all competitions in recent months.

They will however go into the upcoming test looking for a strong response after dropping points in the weekend's 3-3 draw with Everton in the Premier League. After taking the lead on two separate occasions, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men conceded Dominic Calvert-Lewin's equalizer with the last kick of the game to drop two points. They now sit five points behind leaders Manchester City who have a game in hand.

In the FA Cup, Manchester United have already scaled over two hurdles and will aim to get the better of West Ham for a third. The Red Devils defeated Watford in the third round and added to that by beating Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford back in January. In the grand scheme of things, they will approach Tuesday's game off the back of just two defeats in their last 17 outings. They won 10 and drew five times within the period.

For West Ham, the upcoming trip to Old Trafford presents the perfect opportunity for them to avenge last December's 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United. The Hammers, since then, have put together a brilliant run that has lifted them into the top six of the English Premier League. They will enter the FA Cup clash confident in their abilities as only one of their last ten outings has ended in a defeat. Their haul includes seven wins and two draws.

Infact, David Moyes' side has only lost four times in all competitions since September — twice to Liverpool, and once against Manchester United, and Chelsea respectively. In the FA Cup, the London club beat Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers to set-up this fifth round clash with Manchester United.

Team news

Paul Pogba is ruled out of action for a few weeks after picking up an injury in the weekend's draw with Everton. Eric Bailly is also a doubt as he deals with a knee injury. Phil Jones remains a long-term absentee.

For West Ham, Arthur Masuaku and Darren Randolph will not feature at Old Trafford while Michal Antonio remains a doubt. New-boy Jesse Lingard will not be available to play against his parent club although. There is, however, a boost in personnel with Tomas Soucek being available after having his red card against Fulham overturned following an appeal.
