The Bianconeri will be looking to return to winning ways when they host the relegation-battling side. Here's a preview of Monday's game.

Juventus vs Crotone – preview

Serie A defending champions Juventus are gearing up for an interesting encounter on Monday, taking on relegation-battling Crotone. Pirlo's men will play hosts to the Pythagoreans for their 2:45 p.m. ET clash with their sole aim being to return to winning ways.

The Bianconeri head into this tie on the back of disappointing back-to-back losses, defeats that put both their domestic and European ambitions under threat. First was the 1-0 defeat away to Napoli, a result which had many fearing for the club's top-four spot. A first-half Insigne penalty condemned Juventus to their third loss of the Serie A season, leaving them with only 12 wins out of 21 games.

As a result, Cristiano and Co. have been leapfrogged by Atalanta and Lazio, thus dropping down to sixth in the table. This is only temporarily, we should point out. Having played two fewer games than the aforementioned sides, Juventus will reclaim their spot should they pick up those six points. Furthermore, they would move within a point of second-placed AC Milan if they win those two fixtures after Ibrahimovic and Co. fell 3-0 to Inter Milan.

Failure to beat Monday's opposition would leave the Old Lady, at best, 10 points behind league leaders Inter Milan. Additionally, having lost the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash with Porto 2-1, confidence is not at an all-time high at the Allianz Stadium.

The last time these two sides met, the Italian giants managed only a 1-1 draw, with Federico Chiesa getting sent off. In fact, Juventus haven't fared well against newly-promoted sides since Allegri's departure, with the club winning only three of the last seven ties. Cristiano and Co. must put an end to this if they wish to rekindle their title defense.

Team news

Juventus: Chiellini picked up a knock in the 2-1 loss to Porto and will thus be joining Bonucci on the sidelines. Rabiot is suspended for this game while Cuadrado and Arthur are injured. Dybala is close to a return but this fixture comes too soon for the Argentine.

Crotone: Salvatore Molina is back for the visitors. However, Ahmad Benali and Giuseppe Cuomo are injured for this tie.
