Due to Liverpool's horrendous dip in form, rumors of Jurgen Klopp's exit have hit an all-time high. BILD have now added fuel to these speculations, claiming that the highly-rated tactician is likely to leave Merseyside in order to coach the German national team.
The former Dortmund boss is under contract until 2024 and while he has publicly stated he has no desire to leave Merseyside amid the current crisis, BILD claim that the odds of him leaving eclipse the odds of him seeing out his contract. In fact, the report claims that the 53-year-old is 68 percent likely to replace Joachim Low at the helm of die Mannschaft as he firmly intends on returning to Germany.
However, this is true for the summer of 2022, not this year, with Klopp likely to take over the 2014 World Cup champions after the completion of Qatar 2022. He would enjoy a six-month sabbatical once the 2021/22 season wraps up before succeeding Low in early 2023, just in time for him to lead his nation in the 2024 Euros being held in his home country.
While the report suggest an Anfield exit this summer is possible, the odds of him quitting or being sacked at the end of this season are very low – it is one percent, to be precise. That isn't the only positive news for Liverpool fans keen on seeing Klopp stay, however. Despite only being 30 percent likely to see out his contract, BILD claim that Jurgen could remain until 2024 if the club's sporting plans are on par with his ambitions.
Since arriving in England back in 2015, Klopp has done wonders for the Reds. The 53-year-old gaffer took the Merseyside giants to back-to-back UEFA Champions League finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the title the second time around, before ending the club's wait for the Premier League title.
Despite all of this, the German cannot bank on his success. The reigning EPL champions are in a free fall and the immediate goal is to turn things around at Anfield. Salah and Co. have lost their last four league games in a row and have thus dropped to sixth in the table. With only two wins from their last eleven top-flight outings, the team are in great danger of missing out on next season's Champions League.
