The Reds will be keen on returning to winning ways, having lost their last five home league games in a row. Here's a preview of Liverpool vs Fulham.

Liverpool vs Fulham – preview

Will Liverpool bring an end to their horrendous losing streak at Anfield? This is the question on everyone's mind for their upcoming game, with the Reds set to host Fulham for Gameweek 27 in the English Premier League. This Sunday clash kicks off at 9 a.m. ET as Klopp looks to bring their fatal freefall to a halt.

Klopp's men head into this fixture having lost their last five home games in a row, a far-cry from the days when Anfield was an impenetrable fortress. Defeats to Man City, Everton, and most recently Chelsea can be swallowed as one of those three teams are marching towards the title while the other two are in the mix for a Champions League spot. However, the 1-0 losses against Burnley and Brighton are harder to explain, with the Reds scoring only once throughout those five matches.

That sole goal came courtesy of a Mohamed Salah penalty, showing the club's stark barren spell in front of goal. Only one player has scored more than once in Liverpool's last six league outings and that is their Egyptian superstar but even he has netted only twice during that time.

As a result, the reigning Premier League champions boast only one victory in their last six fixtures, having failed to win 10 times in their last 13 league outings. Dropping to seventh in the table was their reward for the 1-0 loss to Chelsea and they could plummet to ninth if Tottenham and Aston Villa win their game in hand.

As for Fulham, they have been enjoying a resurgence in form, with the Cottagers moving within three points of the safety zone after going five games unbeaten prior to the Spurs loss. That 1-0 defeat against Spurs was controversial as Scott Parker's men were denied a goal due to a debatable handball interpretation. The visitors have triumphed only once in their last four outings and will be looking to return to winning ways, with there being no better ground to achieve this than Anfield.

Team news

Liverpool: Ozan Kabak is the latest defender to get injured, with the January signing picking up a knock in the 1-0 loss to Chelsea. Nathaniel Philipps could be fit for this fixture, as is Ben Davies. Diogo Jota will be keen on a start but the likes of Henderson, Matip, Gomez, and Van Dijk remain sidelined.

Fulham: Aleksandar Mitrovic, who recovered from COVID-19 a while back, will be keen on a start. Unfortunately, the visitors will be without captain Tom Cairney and Terence Kongolo.
