Both teams had a few share of surprises for their fans after Zidane and Koeman picked their starting XI.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are minutes away from entering the pitch to fight for three crucial points in their quest to win La Liga, but judging by their choices when creating their lineups, both Zinedine Zidane and Ronald Koeman decided to keep some of their finest footballers on the bench rather than giving them a nod in the starting XI.

The hosts decided to leave players such as Marco Asensio, Isco, and Rodrygo on the bench. Asensio had scored at least once in the team's last four games, while Isco and Rodrygo have proven to be decisive when used by the French tactician.

Here's Real Madrid's lineup for today's big clash.

"Our starting lineup for El Clásico!"

As for Barcelona, coach Ronald Koeman decided to sideline players such as Antoine Griezmann, Miralem Pjanic, Sergi Roberto, and surprisingly, Gerard Piqué. While all of them will be on the bench, Piqué's absence from the starting lineup hints that the footballer was not fully fit to stand the pressure of a full clash, which means he could be given a chance to play as the match unfolds and if his presence is necessary. Here is Barcelona's lineup for tonight's matchup against Los Blancos.
