The Blues have even named the players that will be used to fund at least part of the deal, according to sources.

Chelsea's interest in hiring Erling Haaland will reportedly see Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich trying to break the bank. Sources close to the team have suggested that the team owner has already given the Blues' director Marina Granovskaia specific instructions and funding to see the deal through at all costs.

According to German publication Bild, Roman Abramovich has already the team's sporting director over $200M to try and lure the footballer to Stamford Bridge. Haaland's future has been tipped by Borussia Dortmund exec Michael Zorc as a certainty, but the impressive amount of money could change the Black and Yellow's stance on the deal.

The German newspaper has also revealed that Chelsea have already named three footballers as potential transfers to fund the move for Haaland and keep Chelsea within the Financial Fair Play boundaries. The newspaper has named Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech as the three footballers that could leave the club this summer, with at least two of those moves making sense.

Abraham and Hudson-Odoi have barely featured for the Blues under Thomas Tuchel, while Ziyech's move would help Chelsea raise enough funds to keep the club within the FFP boundaries. Bild suggests that these signings could see the Blues earning at least $90M.

After letting Jadon Sancho leave this summer, it seems highly unlikely to see Borussia Dortmund letting Haaland go during the same transfer window. But maybe a bit over $200M could do the trick for the German side to find a suitable replacement for the man who scored 41 goals in 41 games.
