Both the Biancocelesti and the Rossoneri will be looking to get back to winning ways as they square off at the Stadio Olimpico to wrap up matchday 33 on Monday, April 26th.

Preview: Lazio vs Milan

Both Lazio and Milan will be keen on getting back to winning ways as they lock horns at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday evening. For the Aquile, they come into this match having seen their five game winning streak ended in spectacular fashion as they were beaten 5-2 by Napoli. From a neutral perspective, it was certainly a highly entertaining match, but obviously not so much so for Simone Inzaghi's side.

That being said, Lazio will have history firmly on their minds ahead of this game. Should they beat Milan, it will mark a tenth straight Serie A win at the Stadio Olimpico. To date, the capital club have only done this twice, and the last time they achieved this feat was well before any of the players (and many fans) were born: in 1974. The first time? That was even further back - in 1937.

It's been a wild past week for Lazio, during which they saw a total of 15 (yes, that's right, 15!) goals scored in just their last two games. They beat Benevento 5-3 in an eight goal thriller, before losing 5-2 to Napoli, so observers will certainly hope to get plenty of fireworks when Milan come to town. The Benevento game was especially interesting as it pitted Simone against his brother Pippo, who's currently the manager of that side, so it was a unique family reunion of sorts.

Meanwhile, Milan have also had a wild week as well. The Rossoneri were among the so-called "Dirty Dozen" teams exposed as being involved in trying to breakaway and form their own competition, only to see the European Super League collapse even before it got off the ground. Stefano Pioli's men attempted to put that distraction behind them, only to have Sassuolo come to the Stadio San Siro and as they've done in the past, throw a spanner in their plans by doing a smash and grab job to leave with all three points in hand.

Milan's woes on home turf have come back to haunt them, but the same can't be said on the road. The Diavolo have done excellently in their travels, with 13 wins from their 15 away games, and if they can win here, they'll become the first team to win 14 out of 16 matches in a single Serie A season in league history.

However, Lazio naturally won't make that easy. As we noted before, the Aquile will be hoping to win ten at home on the spin for the first time in nearly 50 years, and for only the third time in club history. So, will the hosts recover from a loss to get back on track in spectacular fashion? Or will Milan rebound after a crazy week to make history in their own way?

Team news: Lazio vs Milan

Lazio: Star man and team top goal-scorer Ciro Immobile picked up a slight calf injury during Lazio's loss to Napoli, but he should recover in time for Monday's fixture, along with Luis Alberto, who also suffered a slight ankle injury.

Milan: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has missed the past couple of games due to injury and suspension, but the veteran striker could feature if he passes a late fitness test. The same applies to Theo Hernandez as well as Ismael Bennacer, both of whom have also been out lately with injury issues of their own.
