The Nerazzuri were confirmed as winners of the Scudetto after Sunday's draw between Atalanta and Sassuolo.

Inter Milan have finally emerged as kings of Italy to end Juventus' nine-year monopoly of being Serie A winners. The Nerazzurri were confirmed as the champions following Sunday's 1-1- draw between Sassuolo and second-placed Atalanta at the Città del Tricolore.

Piero Giasperini's side required a win to at least postpone Inter Milan's celebrations but could not muster a favorable result as the visitors pegged them back to secure a point. They had opened the scoring in the first half through skipper Robin Gosens but conceded Domenico Berardi's spot-kick in the second half to relinquish their advantage.

The result provided some leverage for La Dae in their pursuit for a Champions League spot for next season but its significance was massive for Inter Milan. With just four games left of the season to play, the Guiseppe Meaza outfit is now 13 points clear atop the league table. Following the conclusion of the game in Sassuolo, their fans took to the streets of Milan to celebrate what is the club's 19th league title win.

The last time the club tasted success in the domestic competition was in their Champions League-winning season under Jose Mourinho. For manager Antonio Conte, the title is his fourth as he won it thrice in succession as the manager of Juventus between 2011 and 2014.
