The Merengues will be without two important players for their first game in this year's FIFA Club World Cup.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti faces a difficult selection dilemma with several key players out injured for Wednesday's Club World Cup semifinal. The Italian coach is expected to take his chances without some of his most important players - particularly Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois - when Los Blancos takes on Egypt's Al Ahly at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat On Wednesday.

Real Madrid arrived in the capital of Morrocco in the late hours of Monday night ahead of Tuesday's preparation for the Club World Cup showdown. Skipper Karim Benzema was seen among the squad despite sitting out the weekend's disappointing defeat to Mallorca. The fitness of the Frenchman still remains a concern and it remains unlikely that he will be involved in the match-up with the finalists of last year's CAF Champions League.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was not pictured anywhere as he continues to recover from the injury he picked up over the weekend. In the warm-up before Sunday's meeting with Mallorca, the Belgian shot-stopper suffered a groin injury and was forced to sit out the defeat. Nevertheless, he is expected to make a swift recovery as the issue is not of major concern.

Relatively, Real Madrid may be forced to make do without the involvement of Eder Militao, Lucas Vazquez, and Mendy. The last pair did not make the travelling squad as well and are expected to be out for several games with long-term injuries.

Meanwhile, Los Blancos still remain the favorites to secure passage into the final of this year's Club World Cup as they target a record-extending fifth title. Carlo Ancelotti's men should be able to book a date with Flamengo or Al-Hilal Saudi should they register a win on Wednesday.
