A number of key players were injury doubts for Saturday's showdown with Leeds but Arteta could welcome them back in time for the upcoming fixture.

Arsenal are entering the final 10 games of their Premier League title race. The Gunners currently sit top of the table with an eight-point lead over closest rivals Manchester City. albeit having played a game extra, and will look to extend their six-game winning streak to seven when they host Leeds this Saturday.

And to make things even better, Gunners fans have received several boosts ahead of their return to action. Mikel Arteta's men were in training on Thursday, with cameras being allowed for this session, and two key players were spotted on the pitch.

They are Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney, two men who picked up knocks during the international break. Partey's issue was the more concerning of the two given the midfielder's importance to the lineup and his previous injury record.

The Ghanaian ace was an unused sub in his national team's recent fixture, with the head coach later revealing that the former Atletico Madrid ace picked up a knock and was thus not risked. Soon afterward, it was revealed that it wasn't related to his recurring hamstring issue and that the knock wasn't serious.

Come Thursday and the Ghanaian was spotted in training with his teammates ahead of Saturday's crucial fixture. Tierney, on the other hand, limped off in Scotland's 2-0 win over Spain but was also on hand in Thursday's session. 

The left-back isn't a starter, having lost his position to Oleksandr Zinchenko, but remains a talented and powerful weapon for Arteta. However, both could be rested in order to keep them fit and healthy for the trip to Anfield on April 9.

It should be noted that Arteta did not have a full squad for this training session. Both William Saliba and Eddie Nketiah remain absent, with the Frenchman injuring his back during the UEFA Europa League exit against Sporting CP while the English striker hasn't featured since hurting his ankle in the 4-0 win over Everton at the start of this month.

However, even with those two issues, Arsenal fans have been handed a positive update, with the Athletic reporting that both men will be assessed ahead of the Leeds game. While neither is likely to start, the mere fact that they are in the running is welcome news.

Saliba, in particular, has been a key figure for the North London giants this season and has established himself as one of the best center-backs in the league in what is his debut season in England. Given that Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out for the rest of the season, the Gunners will want to avoid a lengthy layoff for the Frenchman.
