The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is literally just around the corner, with less than three months remaining before the ninth edition kicks off in Australia and New Zealand in July.
For the first time, this competition will be a 64 game tournament, and the USWNT, who have won the last two editions, will again seek to successfully defend their title.
Fans in the USA will certainly be eager to cheer on the Stars and Stripes as they look to do a "three-peat" this summer, and now, FOX Sports have announced exactly how supporters will be able to follow the action (despite many of the games kicking off at some interesting times for people living in the United States).
FOX will cover all 64 games, starting from the tournament opener on Thursday, July 20th featuring co-hosts New Zealand and Norway, and concluding with the final on Sunday, August 20th.
29 of the games will be covered live by FOX, which, according to the company, will represent the largest number of women's games covered by a US broadcast network. The other 35 will be carried by FOX Sports 1 (FS1), while fans can live stream all 64 games via the FOX Sports App.
Of the 29 games being covered by FOX, five will take place during primetime, while another 12 will be taking place over a weekend. FOX will also cover the quarterfinals (August 11-12), semifinals (August 15-16), third-place consolation game (August 19), and the final (August 20).
In addition to the aforementioned dedicated coverage, fans will also get to enjoy great supplemental programming adding up to nearly 200 hours of bonus content, including FIFA Women's World Cup Live, FIFA Women's World Cup Today, and FIFA Women's World Cup Tonight. These three programs will offer pre and post game analysis as well as featured stories and in-depth looks at key players and squads.
Finally, for the USWNT, there will also be additional coverage, with a two-hour specially created pre-game show ahead of each of their three group stage games against Vietnam, Portugal, and the Netherlands.
