The Gunners have had a strong season so far, and posted record numbers when they played three games at the Emirates this year.

Great news for women's football fans!

Arsenal's women's team, who were unfortunately knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by German outfit Wolfsburg, will now have the chance to play more games at the famed Emirates stadium next season. The Gunners usually play most of their games at a much smaller venue, with Meadow Park (with an approximate capacity of 4,500) serving as the home ground for both the women's team and Arsenal's youth teams. The Gunners also share the ground with semi-pro side Boreham Wood, who currently play in the fifth tier of English football.

Women's football has grown in popularity as of late, and this has been reflected in ticket sales. According to reports, Arsenal, who played three games at the Emirates this season, sold nearly 140,000 tickets, with about 53,000 coming alone from their North London derby clash against Tottenham back in September, and the remaining being sold during clashes against Chelsea and Manchester United.

With this encouraging news, Arsenal will now get to play five games next season at the Emirates in the 2023/24 season - something that will certainly delight supporters of the women's team who have hoped to see their favorite players getting to play in a much larger venue on a regular basis.

Next up for Jonas Eidevall's side, who won their sixth League Cup earlier this season, will be an away game against Brighton as they look to close the gap on third-placed Manchester City and secure a chance at featuring in the Champions League next term.
