The Danes will live to continue their fairytale ride in the Euros after securing a spot among the last four of the tournament.

Denmark's remarkable run at Euro 2020 continued on Saturday night as the secured a place in the semi-final with a the win over Czech Republic. The Danes run away with a 2-1 win in Azerbaijan's capital Baku, advancing to the penultimate round for the first time since 1992. 

Having had to deal with Christian Eriksen's shocking collapse and losing their first two group games at the finals, the Danes qualified to the knockout stage with just the points from the win over Russia. Since then, they have punched above their weight to extend their wins to three in succession. Against Czech Republic who are mostly resolute and physical, they set the tone for a relatively comfortable night by opening the scoring in the fifth minute via Thomas Delaney header.

With three minutes left to play before the break, Kasper Dolberg redirected Joakim Maehle's cross into the Czech's net to his impressive scoring form at the tournament. The buffer provided by the Nice attacker was, however, threatened right after the break with Patrik Schick scoring his fifth goal of the tournament with a brilliant volley.

In the end, the goal only proved to be a consolation with the Danes holding their ground to sail through to the semi-finals. They became the first team ever to progress from the group stage of the tournament to the semi-finals after losing opening 2 games.

Having extraordinarily won the 1992 European Champions, Denmark are a win away from reaching the finals once again. The team now play the the winner of the quarterfinal clash between England and Ukraine in Wednesday's semifinal at London's Wembley Stadium.
