The player's agent has reportedly held discussions with one of the Premier League's biggest teams.

Robert Lewandowski is arguably the deadliest striker in world football currently, but despite this, not many expected the Bayern Munich forward to contemplate leaving the Allianz Arena to test himself elsewhere.

The Polish superstar has been linked with an array of clubs over the summer, and according to the Sun, there is actual interest on his part as the 32-year-old's agent has been in contact with one Premier League side. They are none other than Chelsea, the current champions of Europe.

Sport Bild claim that Pini Zahavi, the representative of Lewandowski, has held discussions with the Blues. Bayern Munich, however, aren't keen on letting the former Dortmund ace go, and for obvious reasons, having scored 41 goals in only 29 Bundesliga appearances last season.

The Stamford Bridge outfit are on the hunt for a striker after witnessing Timo Werner's struggles last term, and are said to be willing to bid $69M for the Polish sensation. Bayern Munich are lining up contract negotiations with their talisman forward in a bid to thwart this, so it will be interesting to see what unfolds.

It should be noted that while Lewandowski is one of Chelsea preferred targets, he's not priority no.1. The man at the top of their wish list is none other than Erling Haaland, the Dortmund sensation who is seen as the hottest striker in world football.

Unfortunately, Tuchel's side are struggling to arrange a deal with BVB. The Blues are ready to table a bid in the region of $186M for the 21-year-old, but his Bundesliga employers remain adamant that he is not for sale this summer.

While the striker's alleged $89M release clause will kick in next summer, meaning the London giants could sign their man for less than half the price, they will likely face stiffer opposition in 2022. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus have merely been priced out of a move this summer due to their financial issues but could come in heavily for the Norwegian in 12 months' time.
