The game will unfold at Banc of California Stadium, home of Los Angeles FC.

Why is this MLS All-Star Game different?

This edition of the MLS All-Star Game will not see an MLS Western Conference team facing an Eastern Conference game or the league All-Stars against a European powerhouse.

MLS will field a team made up of some of the best talents from their league in the USA and Canada. Their opponents? None other than Liga MX’s best players.

For many years, Mexican professional teams have taken down American pro sides in friendlies and competitive international competitions like the CONCACAF Champions League. However, MLS teams have picked up their weight in the past couple of years.

With all the talk about the possibility of a merger between MLS and Liga MX, the MLS All-Star Game 2021 will serve as a step forward in that direction or at least keep the dialogue going.

Who won the Skills Challenge on Tuesday?

Liga MX won the Skills Challenge on Tuesday after winning three of the five competitions.

  • Shooting Challenge: MLS won 140-62
  • Touch Challenge: Liga MX won 165-134
  • Cross & Volley Challenge: MLS won 105-100
  • Passing Challenge: Liga MX won 9-5
  • Crossbar Challenge: Liga MX won
