The Portuguese ace put to good use a cross by Bruno Fernandes to give Manchester United the lead against Young Boys.

It was not the most spectacular goal Cristiano Ronaldo has ever scored in the competition, but it will go down in history as the first one scored in this edition of the tournament.

The Portuguese star had already made history by equaling the number of games former teammate Iker Casillas had played in the continental competition, but apparently, that was not enough for the Portuguese footballer and he decided to add one more record to his tally today.

Just before the 15th-minute mark, Cristiano Ronaldo found himself all alone in the opponent's box after a cross by Bruno Fernandes. The player's right-footed shot went past the goalie's legs, but a small deflection added a bit of drama to the shot. Eventually, the ball crossed the line to give CR7 his 135th goal in the tournament.
