The English forward's misplaced pass presented the Swiss side a golden opportunity to snatch the win.

Manchester United fans have been left fuming after a mistake by Jesse Lingard denied their side the opportunity to secure a point from Tuesday's Champions League group stage opener against Young Boys. The Red Devils conceded a 95th minute winner after the 28-year-old England international placed an erroneous back-pass into the path of the host's Jordan Siebatcheu to score.

Following a promising start inside the Wankdorf Stadion, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up from where he left off things last weekend by opening the scoring for Manchester United in the 13th minute. Nevertheless, the fortune of the visitors will soon change with Aaron Wan-Bissaka picking up a straight red card in the 35th minute for bad tackle.

His handicapped side immediately felt the consequence of the English defender's actions, with Jadon Sancho being substituted off for Diogo Dalot to fill in the vacant right-back position. With a man advantage, Young Boys pushed ahead for an equalizer and were adequately rewarded with a fine goal in the 66th minute through Nicolas Ngamaleu.

Six minute later Ole Gunnar Solskjaer substituted off Cristiano Ronaldo and replaced the Portuguese attacker with Jesse Lingard. However, the introduction of the winger proved costly as he would put in a poor back pass that would subsequently gift Young Boys the win in the final minute of additional time. Watch:
