One more week of action in the 2021-22 La Liga season is about to get underway, and we will have some interesting games in our hands that could very well determine what fans and experts can expect from the teams that have enjoyed a good start of the season.
After a weekend in which neither Sevilla nor Barcelona played, we will be able to watch all ten games of this matchday until Monday, when Los Blaugranas put an end to matchday 5. One day earlier, Valencia and Real Madrid are poised to keep fans on the edge of their seats with the stellar clash set to be held at Mestalla.
Here's what's in store for fans this week in the Spanish top-flight.
La Liga - League standings after Matchday 4
There are seven teams still unbeaten in the competition, but only three of those have played in each matchday of the current competition. Out of those, Real Madrid, Valencia, and Atlético Madrid rule the league with ten points, but Los Blancos have been better than the rest with more goals and a better goal difference than their rivals. The top five is completed by Real Sociedad and Athletic, with the latter being one of the teams that have not lost a game in the tournament.

Atlético Madrid vs Athletic Club - The defending champions had a bittersweet debut in this year's UEFA Champions League, which will force them to put up a better show in front of their fans against the tough Athletic Club side. This Saturday match should be quite fun to watch due to the tactical duel between two of the best coaches in La Liga: Diego Simeone and Marcelino García Toral.
Valencia vs Real Madrid - Two of the league leaders lock horns in this Sunday clash, which should give us a good idea on how far Valencia and Ancelotti's men will go in the tournament. Los Naranjeros will get to this match well rested, while Real Madrid may have to change it up a little after their excruciating trip to Italy, where they beat Inter one-nil in their UEFA Champions League debut this Wednesday.
Barcelona vs Granada - Los Blaugranas return to action in the Spanish top-flight after having their matchday 4 game postponed. Unfortunately for them, their disappointing clash against Bayern has added pressure to their boss, Ronald Koeman, and a loss or draw against Granada could make things more complicated for the Dutch coach. Speaking of their rivals, Los Nazaríes are still looking for their first win of the season, and winning a second game in a row at Camp Nou would be a great way to improve the way things are going for them this campaign.
