These two clubs will face off in the upcoming round having registered confidence-boosting victories.

Matchday 10 in Ligue 1 has come to a wrap, with Sunday drawing the curtains on an exciting round of fixtures. The action kicked off on Friday—and it kicked off with a bang—as PSG took on fellow top-five side Angers in an entertaining three-goal fixture, with Les Parisiens coming back from a goal down to win 2-1.

Saturday saw Lyon triumph, beating Monaco 2-0 at home. However, Les Monégasques weren't the only French heavyweights to suffer a defeat as Lille fell 1-0 in their trip to Clermont earlier that same day. Elsewhere, Nice picked up their second loss of the campaign, being beaten 1-0 at Troyes while Lens dropped three points in their trip to Montpellier. The final fixture of this round was Marseille's clash with Lorient, with Jorge Sampaoli's men marching to an emphatic 4-1 victory courtesy of a brace from Matteo Guendouzi. Here's everything you need to know about the recent round in Ligue 1.

  • PSG beat Angers 2-1 but the league leaders did not enjoy the best of starts in that game. The hosts went 1-0 down just after the half-an-hour mark as Fulgini gave the visitors the lead. However, a Kylian Mbappe-inspired comeback took place as Les Parisiens turned things around thanks to two goals in the final 30 minutes. That result saw Pochettino's side win their ninth point from a losing position, a feat no other club has managed this season.

  • Unfortunately, not every statistic reads in PSG's favor as they conceded the opening goal in a home tie for the fifth time in 2021. This is the most number of times this has occurred in a single calendar year for the Paris giants, equaling the record set in 2012 (also 5).

  • While Matteo Guendouzi stole all the plaudits after Marseille's 4-1 win, Arkadiusz Milik reached an incredible feat. The Polish forward scored his 10th goal in 17 outings for the club in that tie, becoming the fastest Les Phocéens player to reach double digits in goals in 18 year since Sonny Anderson (11 games in 1993-1994).

  • St. Etienne's Zaydou Youssouf set an unwanted feat in the 5-1 loss to Strasbourg. The French midfielder scored an own goal before being sent off, becoming the first player to net against him own team and pick up a red card in the same game since May 1, 2011.

Top matches to watch in Ligue 1: Oct. 22-, 2021

Nice vs Lyon: Nice started the season extremely well but have now suffered two defeats in their last four outings. Christophe Galtier's side will not want to make it back-to-back losses but will face a tough test at home to Lyon. The two sides are level on points now despite Les Gones' horrendous start to the campaign. Aouar and Co. can climb as high as second if they overcome their weekend opponents, making for an interesting encounter.

Marseille vs PSG: This is the game to watch in Matchweek 11 in Ligue 1. PSG will travel to Marseille on Sunday in a match that could set the tone for the rest of the season. Given that Pochettino's men already boast a 10-point lead over Sampaoli's third-placed side – and a nine-point advantage over second-placed Lens – Les Parisiens are in risk of running away with the title less than halfway into the season. Les Phocéens will need to prevent this from occurring. Furthermore, they could slash PSG's lead to seven points, even six, by beating them. Do not miss this fixture.
