Real Sociedad, Real Madrid, and Sevilla continue their battle for the top spot with interesting games to be played this weekend.

The Spanish Primera División will give fans something to talk about in the first weekend of action in November, as there will be some interesting matches taking place in different regions of the country.

Teams such as Real Madrid, Sevilla, Atlético Madrid, and league leaders Real Sociedad will continue their battle at the top of the charts, while others such as Barcelona, Valencia, or even the last-placed Getafe will try to turn their fortunes around with a convincing win this weekend.

Before we go deeper into what will happen in the last matchday before an international break in 2021, let's have a look at the standings.

La Liga - League standings after Matchday 12

Real Sociedad are top of the league with a one-point margin over Real Madrid and Sevilla, with both of the latter with a game in hand. Right next to them, also with a game in hand and three points away from the top is Atlético, the defending champions who have mastered the art of coming back in almost every game they have played. The top five is completed by Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis, one of the team with the best style of play in La Liga and who could finish this week among the top three if things go their way.

Top games to watch

Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallecano - Los Blancos get to this tricky game on a high following their win in the UEFA Champions League. This time, the team led by Carlo Ancelotti will face the surprising Rayo Vallecano, a team that has taken La Liga by assault in their return to the top-flight thanks to their interesting tactics and due to the contribution of players such as Radamel Falcao, who is going back to the form the world used to know. Real Madrid has not struggled to beat Rayo in the past, but something tells us that this game will be a must-watch this time around.

Valencia vs Atlético Madrid - As it has been customary for Valencia in the past seasons, their struggles this year have seen them win only four games. Their game against Atlético could be a turning point in theit season, especially since Los Colchoneros will get to this game on a low having lost their most recent UEFA CL game against Liverpool. Simeone's men are currently fourth in the Spanish top-flight, but a win here could see them reach the top of the table with a number of combinations going their way.

Real Betis vs Sevilla - One of the most intense rivalries in the world will add one more chapter to its record when Real Betis host Sevilla this weekend. The Derby Sevillano will have a special flavor this time, as Manuel Pellegrini's are among the top five in the league, while Sevilla are only three points ahead of them prior to Sunday's game. All bets will be off when these teams collide, and we sincerely urge you to keep track of this match if you want to see just how intense a derby from that neck of the woods can be.
