The Paris Saint-Germain boss has reacted to rumors linking him with a move to back to the Premier League.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino has remained tight-lipped about his future, despite Manchester United's apparent plan to appoint him as their next permanent manager. Multiple reports from England have suggested that the former Pochettino is eager to join United mid-season and quit PSG, despite being tied to a contract until 2023.

Manchester United are believed to be certain of recruiting Pochettino as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent successor after the Norwegian parted ways with the club earlier this year. With Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Haag having disclosed their unavailability for the job, the Argentine coach seems to be leading the race to man affairs at Old Trafford. On Tuesday, Sky Sports revealed that discussions were currently ongoing between him and the Red Devils, with Zidane's imminent arrival at the club said to be on the cards.

However, ahead of PSG's Champions League clash with Manchestr City on Wednesday, Mauricio Pochettino refused to comment on the current development when quizzed about his future. At the press conference, he said: "I am not a kid, I am not a child. I spend my whole life playing football and now 12 years being a coach.

"We are in a business where the rumours are there, I completely understand, sometimes in a positive or a negative way. I'm not distracted.

"Rumours are there and we need to live with that. We are so focused, we are giving 100% to try to get our best form from the players to help us in this way, I am so happy with PSG. For tomorrow we are so focused to try and get the best result we can.

"I think we cannot talk about that, my respect to my club, my respect to another man, what that club is doing is not my business," he added.

"I need to be focused on Paris Saint-Germain. I'm not going to make the mistake to talk. Everything we will say in a way, in the past when I was at Espanyol and my dream was to meet Ferguson, all that, I can tell now it's going to be misunderstood and out of context.

"I am so happy at PSG, I am focused to try and give my best. I was a player at PSG, I love the club, I love the fans, it's a fantastic time to be at the club.

While Pochettino remained coy on what was happening, Manchester Evening News have reported that PSG are demanding €12million in compensation from Manchester United to lay him off. In the interim, Michael Carrick will be in charge of the Red Devils until an appointment has been confirmed.
