The forward has addressed his managers comments following United’s draw with the Vilians on Saturday.

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has responded to Ralf Rangick's claim that he refused to play for the club ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa. Following the Red Devils' 2-2 draw at the Villa Park in the encounter, the 26-year-old Frenchman took to his official Instagram page to deny the allegation.

Martial's future with the Premier League heavyweights has come under speculation with many suggesting that he could be on his way out of the club in this winter transfer window. The former Monaco starlet has not played for the Old Trafford club since the 3-2 win over Arsenal on December 2, having expressed his desire to leave on loan. Although Sevilla has been touted as his next potential destination, much has not come out of the links with an agreement yet to be reached.

On Saturday, the attacker was absent from the squad-list ahead of the meeting with Aston Villa and, instead, youngster Anthony Elanga was suprisingly named to feature in the attack. United ended up sharing spoils with the team from Birmingham despite having taking a 2-0 lead and in the aftermath of the encounter, interim manager Ralf Rangnick revealed that the Martial had declined the opportunity to be named in the squad after it appeared that Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcus Rashford will miss out through injury.

"He didn't want to be in the squad," Rangnick said. "He would have been in the squad normally, but he didn't want to. That is the reason why he was not travelling with us yesterday."

Hours later, the Frenchman delivered a rebuttal, stating that his manager's claims were false. In an Instagram story post that went up on Sunday evening, he wrote: "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United. "I've been here for seven years and I have never disrespected and will never disrespect the club and the fans."

On Sunday, the player was seen leaving the Manchester United's Carrington training facilit after showing up and featuring in the day's training session.
