With the title won by Paris Saint-Germain, the permutations for European tournaments and relegation spots are still up for grabs.

The 2021-22 season in the French top-flight has enteres its final stages with PSG being able to parade around the league with their title to display. But even if Les Parisiens have claimed the title to themselves, there are still many matters to decide in Ligue 1.

For starters, the names of the teams that will join the winners of the competition in the UEFA Champions League are yet to be sorted out. As of now, Marseille have a good lead on their rivals, while Rennes and Monaco are going toe-to-toe for the spot in the preliminary rounds of the premier club competition in Europe. Added to that, Nice, Strasbourg, and Lens are still in the hunt for the Europa Conference League spot awarded to Ligue 1, which should make things even more interesting in weeks to come.

Let's have a look at how things look like in the French top-flight ahead of a busy weekend.

Ligue 1 standings ahead of Matchday 35

PSG top the league with 78 points, and with the title all theirs, the only thing left for them to do is to try and finish the season with the highest number of goals and with the best defense. Marseille are six points clear from their rivals in the hunt for one more UCL spot, while Rennes and Monaco are level at 59 points as they look for a preliminary round place in the Champions League.

The lower side of the standings has Metz in desperate need of a win to keep them alive in the battle to avoid relegation. Bordeaux is closer to salvation, but they also need a perfect streak in this final games to assure their spot in Ligue 1 next season. Meanwhile, Saint-Etienne are two points away from the neutral zone, but their current streak hints that they might be forced to participate in the promotion playoff to salvage their spot in the French top-flight.
