The Selecao talisman hit back in response to a few Albiceleste players mocking the five-time World Cup champions after their Wembley victory.

Wednesday saw Argentina take on Italy in the highly-anticipated CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions, more commonly known as Finalissima. The Copa America holders locked horns with the Euro 2020 champions, beating them 3-0 to rack up rave reviews.

Goals from Lautaro Martinez, Angel Di Maria, and Paulo Dybala secured the win as another vintage Lionel Messi performance helped La Albiceleste to a second silverware in just under a year.  As a result, the players were in jubilant mood, and understandably so, celebrating their win at Wembley Stadium.

One player who was truly enjoying Wednesday's victory was Nicolas Otamendi. The Benfica center-back was heard in an Instagram post celebrating the triumph by mocking bitter rivals Brazil in the dressing room.

"Brazilians, what happened? The five-time champion bottled it! Messi went to Rio and left with the Copa [America]," the chant read, referring to last year's Copa final in which Argentina beat the Selecao 1-0 at the Maracana to come away with the trophy.

Unfortunately for them, one Brazilian could not sit back idly while his nation was being mocked. That man was none other than Neymar, the Selecao's talisman, as the PSG sensation hit back with a comment on Instagram.

The world's most expensive player was left heartbroken after last year's Copa America final defeat and thus did not take this chant lightly. The 30-year-old aimed a dig in response, questioning the team's reaction to lifting a somewhat insignificant trophy.

"Did you win the World Cup?" was Neymar's short but straight-to-the-point comeback.

After Argentina's comprehensive victory over Italy, beating the champions of Europe 3-0 and dominating them all over the pitch, many began wondering whether La Albiceleste are now the front-runners for this year's FIFA World Cup crown.

Despite this, captain Lionel Messi, who boasts a great relationship with Neymar, stated after the game that they are not the favorites at Qatar 2022 but will give it their all to bring FIFA's prestigious trophy back to Buenos Aires for the first time since 1986.
