The Italian defender has finally revealed his move to the North American league after spending the last 17 seasons at Juventus

Giorgio Chiellini's departure from Juventus was the cause for much speculation among fans and experts, as many of them believed that the Italian ace would call it quits after not being able to extend his deal with the bianconeri. Nevertheless, the footballer proved them wrong by confirming his move to the California-based team earlier today via Twitter.

With a short caption stating "The Next Chapter" in his career was about to begin, Chiellini confirmed his move to the North American club, where he will be sharing dressing room with players such as Carlos Vela, Brian Rodríguez, and USMNT international Kellyn Acosta.

The extend of Chiellini's deal with the Los Angeles-based club will see the footballer playing for the Black and Gold for the next 18 months, as his deal will run through until the end of the 2023 MLS season.

LAFC's coach Steve Cherundolo had kind words for the team's new acquisition.

"He is one of the top defenders to ever play, he brings a deep knowledge of the game and an ability to have an impact on our young players both on and off the field. His addition is the perfect supplement to the work we are doing every day," coach Cherundolo said.
