About
Sport Lisboa e Benfica, commonly just known as Benfica, is a Portuguese professional football club based in Lisbon. It was founded in 1904 and is nicknamed “The Eagles” by its supporters. Benfica plays all its home games at the Estádio da Luz, which seats about 64,642 people in its current format.
Benfica is the most successful club in Portugal, with more titles won than any other side. The club notably won back to back titles in the European Cup (now known as the UEFA Champions League) in 1961 and 1962 - which made them the first Portuguese team to achieve this. Arguably, Benfica’s biggest rivals are Sporting CP and Porto, with the three teams making up Portugal’s so-called “Big Three” as they have dominated the Portuguese football landscape for decades.
Benfica’s official streaming channel is Benfica TV (BTV), a subscription-based service that provides on-demand streaming coverage of Benfica-related content. This includes key game highlights, press conferences, behind-the-scenes footage of training sessions, interviews with coaches and players, news, documentaries, and more.
