As weeks go by, it seems that Memphis Depay's future gets closer to Manchester United. Sources indicate the Dutch wingman held a secret meeting with the team's officers, where a £25 million bid would be the starting point of a negotiation with PSV Eindhoven.
Depay has been scouted by United's officers for quite some time, even before Louis Van Gaal took managerial duties under his arm. After one of his best professional seasons, Van Gaal has made it clear that he needs someone who can score 20 goals and can also dribble. Depay has scored exactly that amount of goals, and has completed more dribbles than anyone else in the Dutch top flight. Furthermore, Van Gaal was well aware of his skills when he called him up to be a part of the National Team that played the World Cup in Brazil. Depay played four games in the tournament, scoring two key goals against Australia and Chile.
The Dutch wingman was key to PSV Eindhoven's Eredivisie title. With his 20 goals, Depay contributed to the team's first title since 2008, ending Ajax's four-year dominance. He also knows how to be a team player, assisting his team-mates 13 times so far.
Depay has also been scouted by PSG and Liverpool, and it seems that his days with the Farmers will be over soon.
