The father of the Bayern Munich ace was taken into police custody when a warrant for his arrest was discovered.

The Vidals have found themselves in trouble with the law once more, as Chile prepare to clash with Venezuela in their last World Cup qualifier tie of the current international break.

According to La Cuarta of Chile, Erasmo Vidal, father of the Bayern Munich superstar midfielder, has been arrested in the build-up to Tuesday’s fixture.

Erasmo, a man whose struggle with alcohol and drug problems are well documented, was taken into police custody this week after being found intoxicated in public.

Unfortunately for Arturo’s old man, more legal problems awaited him upon being taken into police custody, as it was later discovered that there was an existing warrant for Erasmo due to an unlicensed possession of firearm.

There is no confirmation yet nor news on whether the former Juventus ace’s dad will face time behind bars.

This is not the first time a key figure in the Vidal household made the headlines for all the wrong reasons whilst the national side were in action.

Back in 2015, Arturo himself landed in hot water after being detained by police for crashing his car early in the morning after driving under the influence during La Roja’s Copa America-winning campaign.
