The Portuguese boss doesn't wish to let the French star leave Manchester United, but there seems to be one way in which he would sanction the transfer.

With the transfer window coming to an end, Manchester United fans can still wait for further news on their squad for the upcoming season. The Red Devils have been quite silent during this offseason, but a transfer rumor keeps circulating Jose Mourinho's team, with Paul Pogba right in the middle of it.

The French star has been given permission to join the team later in the summer due to his activity in the World Cup, but the player's agent Mino Raiola is trying to make his client leave the club to satisfy his demands, especially since his relationship with Mourinho is by no means the best.

Despite the team's desire to keep the player around, Pogba's agent is planning a deal to see him leave Man United this summer, and two clubs have been linked with his immediate future: Juventus and Barcelona. The Spanish giants seem to be in pole position to sign the midfielder, as Mourinho has named Ivan Rakitic as his main target in case Pogba agrees terms with Los Blaugranas, according to a report by Spanish outlet Don Balón.

Rakitic has been on Mourinho's wishlist for quite some time, and given the player's desire for recognition away from Camp Nou, the  move would work for both parties like a charm. Furthermore, Los Blaugranas' transfer business this summer has involved several midfielders, including Arturo Vidal's signing, which has caused Rakitic to question his future with the La Liga holders.

The transfer window is set to shut down for English clubs this Thursday. If Mourinho wants to see one of his main transfer targets joining the team, he needs to work out a swift deal that satisfies both parties. Be that as it may, we will find out if something happens in the next 72 hours.
