Just as Man United appeared to be finding their rhythm, enjoying three consecutive wins and scoring six times in those victories, the Red Devils were brought back down to earth by Bournemouth.
Solskjaer's side made the trip to Dean Court for Saturday's early kick-off, taking on Eddie Howe's side on the back of their 2-1 win over Chelsea in the League Cup. The 20-time English top-flight champions went in search of only their fourth win of the 2019/20 season but were instead handed their fourth defeat.
A wonderful goal from Joshua King, with the help of atrocious defending from the away side, was enough to hand the Cherries a 1-0 win. This result meant Man United broke a 33-year-old record for all the wrong reasons.
Never had the Red Devils racked up fewer points after 11 games than their current tally of 13 since the 1986-87 campaign. This means the club have hit a new low that they have never achieved over the last 33 years.
And of course, the reaction on social media was as expected. Many flocked to Twitter to poke fun at Rashford and Co, trolling the club on everything including the result, the embarrassing goal they conceded, and the second-half introduction of Jesse Lingard in order to spark a comeback. The beauty of the premier league is that smaller teams have a chance to cause upsets. Look at today for example, United almost upset Bournemouth and it would have been really embarrassing for Bournemouth to lose #BOUMUN

Fair play to the Man United defenders for giving Josh King the time and space he needed to score that goal.

No pushing or shoving or, you know, putting in a challenge. Just pure respect.
