The manager of the Camp Nou outfit has dug in on what the fate of the Chilean could be following his war with the club.

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has revealed that Arturo Vidal's decision to sue his side over unpaid bonuses will not be met with the consequence of him being denied playing opportunities. The Chilen midfielder's lawyers filed a complaint to Spain's player's union (AFE) citing Los Blaugrana's reluctance to pay the player an outstanding bonus of €2.4 million ($2.68 million).

The suit comes not too long after Vidal expressed his frustrations over getting less playing time while publicly stating his intention to leave the club in the near future. Having been recruited last season, the 32-year-old former Bayern Munich and Juventus star has fallen down the pecking order at Cam Nou with the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Arthur Melo, Sergio Busquets, Carles Alena and Ivan Rakitic all getting more minutes than him.

Nevertheless, Vidal's could be set for a bigger role in the coming weeks following a groin injury to Arthur and the transfer of Carles Alena. Despite the fact that the Chilean has filed a lawsuit against Barca demanding for his unpaid bonuses to be settled, his manager has confirmed that the player's fight with the club has nothing to do with his on-field responsibilities.

"In contractual situations there's always a difference of opinion and the issue will be resolved internally," Valverde said in his presser ahead of his side's trip to Espanyol on Saturday.

"We all know Arturo here, he is the same as always and that's that, I don't see any problem. I don't think this will have any impact on the pitch and that's all I'm concerned with. He's training well at the moment."

At the moment, Barcelona has not yet commented on Vidal's lawsuit with the club looking to maintain the lead ahead of Real Madrid on the league table with another win this weekend.
