Zinedine Zidane's side has apparently secured the service of the in-form Dutch international.

La Liga giants Real Madrid have reportedly secured the signing of Ajax starlet Donny van de Beek. The 24-year-old midfielder is set to join Los Blancos this summer after the club finally agreed a £47 million (€55million) deal with his Amsterdam club.

Following a remarkable 2018/2019 season with Ajax in the Eredivisie as well as the UEFA Champions League, Van de Beek was tipped to join Real Madrid last summer. However, a deal for the Dutch midfielder fell through prior to the closure of the transfer window on the back of claims that the Bernabeu outfit was considering other alternatives including Manchester United's Paul Pogba and Sporting's Bruno Fernandes.

This season, the Netherlands international has still continued in his ascendency and his top form has seen him being linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks. Despite the Red Devils attempt to beef up their ranks with a creative midfielder amid the uncertainty around Paul Pogba's future, Spanish publication Marca claims that Real Madrid already has the transfer of their target wrapped up.

The report suggests that despite a fee being agreed between the Merengues and Ajax, Van de Beek will remain at the latter until the end of the season. On the contrary, the midfielder recently moved to quash any speculation linking him with an imminent departure.

When asked about the prospect of leaving in the winter transfer window during Ajax's mid-season training camp in Qatar, the midfielder said: "I have said it before and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season as well.

"These reports about Real Madrid or Manchester United are a good sign, but it is not important now. I've said I will stay at Ajax and I will do so, 100 per cent."
