Manchester United have finally reached an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Alexis Sanchez. The 31-year-old winger has sealed a permanent move to the Nerazzuri following a season-long loan spell.
Sanchez joined the Red Devils in January 2018 under Jose Mourinho but fell short of expectations despite excelling at Arsenal in seasons before. Plagued by recurrent injuries, the Chilean international put his underwhelming spell at Old Trafford behind him and sealed a loan move to Inter Milan at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season.
A renaissance has since been the hallmark of the attacker who proved crucial in Inter Milan's campaign to securing a second place finish in Serie A this season. In 28 appearances across all competitions, the former Barcelona star contributed a combined 10 goals and assists, one more than he managed in his 18 months stay at Manchester United.
Having impressed Antonio Conte with his performance, Sanchez was included in Inter's squad for the Europa League knockout phase. With the development hinting at the forward's potential stay, Manchester United and Inter Milan successfully reached an agreement on Monday to safeguard the latter's interest.
