Dortmund and Bayern will renew acquaintances once again as they lock horns in another Klassiker tie on Saturday, November 7, 2020.

Preview: BVB vs Bayern Munich

Any clash between Dortmund and Bayern is always set to be a big one, and this Saturday's one will be no exception. Die Schwarzgelben and die Roten have already renewed acquaintances this season, locking horns in the DFL-Supercup in September, which was narrowly won by Bayern 3-2 as the Bavarian titans continue their quest to become only the second team in history to win a Sextuple this year.

In terms of league standings, are currently joint-tied on 15 points, with four wins and a loss from their last five Bundesliga matches, but it's Bayern, not surprisingly, who are on top of the table thanks to their superior goal difference. That's largely due to their 8-0 blowout of Schalke on matchday one, as well as recently crushing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0.

Dortmund, for their part, have also picked up some comfortable wins - albeit not as huge as Bayern's though. Die Schwarzgelben easily cruised to a 3-0 win over floundering Schalke in the latest edition of the Revierderby, and did the same to Gladbach in the Borussen derby, while easily sweeping Frieburg aside 4-0 last month.

On the continental front, Bayern have also been quite ruthless, dismantling an Atletico Madrid side who've built their reputation on their defensive prowess 4-0, before grinding out a gritty 2-1 win in Russia and asserting their superiority over ambitious Austrian side Salzburg in an entertaining eight goal thriller that finally finished 6-2.

Lucien Favre's men also have done well in the Champions League, especially after their disappointing loss to Lazio on matchday one. Following their 3-1 loss in the Eternal City, Dortmund have gone two games sans defeat, and more important, haven't conceded a single goal in two vital wins over Zenit and Club Brugge, which has helped them to re-claim top spot in their quartet ahead of their showdown with Bayern in this upcoming Klassiker tie.

With Leipzig, who up until recently, were leading the league charts, lurking only just slightly behind in third spot, both teams will know that this game will mean more than just three points are at stake. Interestingly, each side have set a unique record so far. Bayern's 24 goals scored are the most for any team after just six matchdays, while Dortmund's two conceded are also the fewest also after six matchdays.

So it's the league's best attack against the league's meanest defense. For Dortmund, revenge for the Supercup defeat will be on their minds; for Bayern, extending their lead will be on the agenda. Which team will come out on top?
