The Hawthorns ran riot at Stamford Bridge, handing the German tactician his first defeat since arriving in London.

The Premier League action resumed today with Chelsea's early kick-off against relegation battling West Brom, the first English top-flight fixture played since since March 21, and what a game it turned out to be!

The Blues hosted Sam Allardyce's struggling side at Stamford Bridge and marched to a 1-0 lead early on, with Pulisic breaking the deadlock right before the half-an-hour mark. Tuchel's side appeared destined for another win but Thiago Silva's unfortunate sending off two minutes later turned the game on its head.

With a man advantage, the Hawthorns sprang to life and thanks to some deadly counter attacks, the 19th-placed side came away with a 5-2 victory – yes, you've read that right. Matheus Pereira was the catalyst of this brilliant comeback, scoring two amazing goals in the first-half stoppage time to turn a 1-0 deficit to a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

The Hawthorns picked up where they left off in the second half, with Callum Robinson chipping in with a brace. The latter of his two goals came in added time to kill off the game after a nervy final 30 minutes as Mason Mount pulled one back with half an hour left on the clock.

That result shocked the Internet, and probably the West Brom players themselves, as they recorded only their fourth win of the season. Furthermore, it saw both the Hawthorns and the Blues set several feats, though for opposite reasons.

Firstly, Thomas Tuchel lost two impressive Chelsea records in the blink of an eye. Pereira's excellent first-half effort saw the London giants concede at Stamford Bridge for the first time under the German tactician while the final result brought an end to the manager's record 14-game unbeaten start.

Then there was West Brom, who went into the history books for all the right reasons. They became the first newly-promoted side to score 4+ goals away to Chelsea in the Premier League and only the second team overall after Wimbledon in December 1986. Furthermore, Allardyce's men became the first team to score five times in a single EPL match at the Bridge since Arsenal in their unforgettable 5-3 triumph back in October 2011.

Chelsea have now conceded eight goals against West Brom this season, they most they have ever conceded both home and away in a single campaign since shipping nine against Liverpool in 1989-90. And finally, Callum Robinson became the first player to score at least twice both home and away against the London giants in a single campaign, and moved level with Sergio Aguero for the most goals scored against the Blues in one season (4).
