Mohamed Salah has entered Liverpool's record books once more after scoring to fire the Reds to an important win over Brentford on Saturday. The 30-year-old scored the game's only goal as his side extended their win streak in the Premier League to six, boosting their bid to four finish at the end of the season.
Liverpool went into the encounter knowing that victory would put them a point behind fourth-placed Manchester United on the table, and they did enough to keep their pressure on their eternal rivals. In a match-up in which chances were at a premium, Mohamed Salah fired the hosts in front inside the 13th minute after tapping home Virgil van Dijk's header across the box.
The goal, which ended up being the only one in the game, was Salah's 100th at Anfield, and ended up making him the first player in Liverpool's history to score in nine successive games on home soil. The strike also took his all-time tally for Liverpool to 186, a feat that has seen him equal Steven Gerrard's haul for the club. Both players are now tied in fifth position on the goalscorer's chart, although the former achieved the milestone in 408 fewer games than the former Liverpool captain.
As per the record books, it is also the third consecutive season that Mohamed Salah has scored at least 30 goals in all competitions.
