The fracas began following an unsportsmanlike display by César Montes against a USMNT footballer, which even saw Weston McKennie ending with his jersey torn apart.

The highly anticipated game between the USMNT and Mexico had some great moments for the Yanks, including Christian Pulisic's brace and Ricardo Pepi's goal, but the real headlines came when one of Mexico's footballers decided to take matters into his own hands -or feet- and vented his frustration against Folarin Balogun.

With the game being won by the USMNT 2-0, Montes was trying to recover a ball in the Yanks' half of the pitch, but his inability to do so saw him kicking Balogun's shin, sparking all sorts of reactions from the Stars and Stripes' players.

Shoves, thrown punches and even Weston McKennie's jersey torn apart were the outcome of that fracas. Montes was sent off for his kick against Balogun, and McKennie was also shown a red card for taunting Mexico's fans and failing to calm a heated atmosphere.

To make matters worse, things did not end there between these sides. Minutes after the initial bustup, Gerardo Arteaga and Sergiño Dest traded blows on the sideline and were also sent off by the game's ref, who had a hard time controlling the players' temper on and off the pitch.

The game ended with a 3-0 score for the Yanks, and as a cherry on top when it comes to bad form, the ref decided to shave six minutes from the twelve he decided to add because Mexican fans yelled a homophobic slur at USMNT goalie Matt Turner, which could have serious consequences for El Tri in upcoming games.
