Ligue 1 matchday 4 - Top games to watch
Here are some of the key games taking place on matchday four:
Nantes vs Marseille: Nantes are one of several teams seeking their first win of the season as they get matchday four underway with a clash against Marseille. The hosts have earned just one point, but are in 15th place due to other sides having fared much worse, while visiting side Marseille have earned seven points and are only behind current league leaders Monaco on goal difference. Given that they will be playing 24 hours earlier, Marseille could temporarily leapfrog Monaco into top spot if they can pick up at least a point in Friday's game.
Monaco vs Lens: It's been an excellent start to the season for Monaco, who are on top of the table after their first three games. Adi Hütter's side are hoping to make a serious Ligue 1 title challenge this season, and have added promising youngster Folarin Balogun to their ranks to further increase their prospects at winning some silverware this term. This game will likely come too soon for Balogun to make his debut for his new side, but Les Rouges et Blancs will fancy their chances against a Lens side who quite poor as they lost 3-1 to PSG last time out.
Lyon vs PSG: Lyon have had a poor start to the season, with just one point from their first four games. Les Gones will naturally be looking to start picking up some much needed points when they welcome PSG in what could be one of the standout ties of matchday four. PSG, for their part, will be looking to start climbing the table after earning their first win of the season by beating Lens 3-1 on matchday three; prior to that, Les Parisiens had picked up back to back draws against Lorient and Toulouse.
