The French superstar is expected to join Los Merengues after a transfer saga that has been going on for the past three years.

The transfer saga of all transfer sagas is about to come to an end, as reports in France suggest Kylian Mbappé has agreed to join Real Madrid next summer.

Real Madrid have been huge fans of the French ace ever since his breakthrough with Monaco in 2017, but the striker decided to join PSG when he seemed to have everything in place to take over for Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid in 2018. Now, after a six-year wait, Mbappé is reportedly joining the La Liga side, as per a report by Le Parisien.

The article issued today shares that Mbappé and his inner circle will now enter the final stages of negotiations with Los Blancos, who are set to offer him the biggest contract for a footballer in club history.

"France's biggest star will join the biggest club in the world next season. Real Madrid are optimistic about their talks with Mbappé's agents, who will be behind the scenes negotiating a massive deal for Les Bleus' captain," the newspaper states.

Although both Mbappé and PSG are yet to confirm this move, Le Parisien's report adds that PSG execs do not believe they will be able to keep the player around like they did in 2022, when Mbappé snubbed an offer by Real Madrid at the last minute.

"PSG have lost the battle this time. Talks for a contract extension have hit a big roadblock. Now, Mbappé and those close to him are waiting for the right time to announce their decision," the article adds.

The only hope for PSG to keep Mbappé around right now is his presence in the 2024 Olympic Games with France. The club agreed to let him join Les Bleus for that competition, but as things stand, the player may not be part of the Ligue 1 giants when the competition takes place in the French capital.
