Ligue 1 - Matchday 24 overview
Matchday 23 was an interesting one, as Monaco and Nice were pitted against each other in a mouth-watering tie. Normally, that fixture featuring Les Rouges-et-Blancs and Les Aiglons isn't so significant, but this season, both sides are firmly entrenched in the battle for the Ligue 1 title. Earlier in the season, Nice cruised to a 4-0 win over Monaco, but this weekend, Leonardo Jardim's men got a taste of revenge on Lucien Favre's side. Radamel Falcao, who has been in inspired form, grabbed a brace to fire his team to the top of the Ligue 1 charts.
Meanwhile, PSG rebounded after a stalemate on matchday 22 by earning a 3-1 win over Dijon. It was far from an assured performance by Unai Emery's side, but Les Parisiens managed to get the job done. That sees them leap-frog Nice into second spot and they now sit three points behind Monaco ahead of their home tie with Lille.
Elsewhere, Lyon will be desperate to get back on track after two consecutive losses, especially with Saint-Etienne nipping at their heels. Les Gones take on Nancy on Wednesday, whilst Les Verts battle Nice also on February 8th.
